The Weapon of Mass Destruction By Pamela Michele Dorsey-Funke

The human tongue is more destructive than any other weapon in the world. It has to be properly contained and controlled on a daily basis. It has the power to kill and destroy but it also has the power to speak life. We should be more attentive to what we say before we say it. Are the words that you are about to say going to speak life into a situation or kill/destroy it? Is what you're about to say pleasing to God?

"If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain." James 1:26

If you really want to know somebody, just sit back and listen to them talk. For out of the heart the mouth speaks. Control your tongue. Don't use it to speak ill words, curses or to put someone down; instead use it to lift each other up. We need to tame our tongues and the ONLY way to do that is by having Jesus in our lives.

Tongue Control:

Never speak when you are angry. When you speak in anger it's not you speaking but your emotions.
Always think twice before you speak. Ensure that what you are about to say is in line with God's will.
Before you speak ask if anyone will be hurt, embarrassed or ridiculed by what you are about to say.
Will my Christian witness be influenced by what you are about to say?
Is what you are about to say the truth?
If the person that you are speaking about was present, would you still say it?
Are you willing to put your words into writing?
Would you like the same thing to be said about you?
Would Jesus approve of what you are about to say?
If you knew that what you are about to say were the last words that you would ever utter, would you still say it?

The tongue can get you into a whole lot of trouble. Learn to tame your tongue and speak life in everything that you do.
